'Trve' is a piece for Harp & Live-Electronics, composed by Kaspar Kuoppamäki for Fanny Herbst. This work explores the convergence of acoustic and electronic elements, with each movement focusing on distinct playing techniques and preparations.
The acoustic sound design forms the foundation of the composition: bowing on the harp strings creates resonant drones, attaching hair-clips to the strings generates a delicate, bell-like timbre and the pedal-buzz creates an organic, distortion-like effect. These sounds and gestures are further expanded through live-electronics crafted in the visual programming environment Max/MSP, adding layers of complexity and texture.
'Trve' highlights the synergy between composer and performer, with Fanny Herbst’s interpretation bringing vitality and emotional depth to the piece. Traditional and modern harp techniques meet electronic manipulation, unveiling a sonic narrative of introspective contemplation and fleeting glimpses of transcendence.
