About:

 Kaspar Kuoppamäki is a Finnish-German composer, improviser, producer, sound artist and filmmaker with a focus on pop-cultural phenomena. Spanning a broad musical background , they deal with the phenomenon of genre itself in an artistic way and use its gestures to create immersive compositions and films. Kaspar is known for their ambient-infused instrumental works, as well as a driving force behind the experimental pop outfit ‘This Machine!’ which was awarded winning the Experimental Pop Advancement prize at the GigaHertz Festival at the ZKM in Karlsruhe 2023. Their works have been performed at venues such as Rhiz and Echoraum in Vienna and ZKM in Karlsruhe and screened at festivals, such as Pool International Dance Film Festival Berlin, Rollout in Macao.

Originally from Helsinki, Kaspar is currently based in Essen, pursuing a degree in Composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
